Signs of Hope - People of Faith

A prayerful concert with songs linked by stories and reflections.
About people whose faithful lives have brought
 hope and compassion into the world.
The program can be partly adapted for mixed-age audiences.
 

Invitations welcome. This program includes songs and stories about:
- Mary MacKillop (St. Mary of the Cross)
- Sr Irene McCormack, the Australian Josephite nun who was killed in Peru in 1991.
- Jean Vanier founder of L’Arche, Faith and Light, communities giving welcome to  people with disabilities.
- Fr Mark Croker, the shearer who became a shepherd. A ‘late vocation’, now a priest in Canberra.
- Fr Ted Kennedy, priest of Redfern for 30 years. A friend and advocate of aboriginal people.
- Pope John Paul II
- Mary Mother of Jesus.
- St. Francis of Assisi and others.

Duration:  To be decided by the Parish. This presentation can be:
1. single bracket of
 seventy-five minutes or 2. two forty minute brackets with interval

PETER KEARNEY has been writing and singing for over forty years.
‘The Beatitudes’, ‘Fill My House’, and ‘Where is your Song, my Lord’ are among his best known early compositions. Peter has been a full time musician since 1982. He has travelled Australia and overseas to share his hymns, songs and stories. Fourteen albums of his music have been published. The ‘As One Voice’ hymnal has several of his compositions - ‘The Magnificat’, ‘The Story We Share’, ‘Come Now Holy Spirit’ &
'We Welcome this Child’.
