On his first Camino, Peter Kearney walked 700+ kilometres through northern-Spain along the Camino de Santiago, an ancient pilgrimage route. He walked the path known as the Camino Frances - starting from St. Jean Pied-de-Port just over the French border, to Santiago-de-Compostela in north-west Spain, burial place of St. James the Apostle. The path goes over mountain passes, through farmyards, fields and vineyards, rests by night in medieval villages. The DVD weaves music with Peter's narration and photographs. Beautiful landscapes. Photos and stories of pilgrims met along the way. Information on Camino history, customs and practicalities such as the 'albergues', the simple hostels in which pilgrims stay. Please note that the DVD contains photos, not video footage. Pan and zoom transitions create a dynamic effect. The presentation is for a general audience rather than specifically religious.

OTHER COMMENTS ON 'WALKING THE CAMINO': "We enjoyed 'Walking the Camino' tremendously. We have heard so much of the pilgrimage to Compostela and watching the DVD gave us a feeling of the experience of the walk" (Wendy).

"Music, image, reflection, history, connection - so much pulled together for us to enjoy". (Keith)

It is about his second Camino walk, this time all in France, along Le Chemin de St. Jacques - from Le Puy-en-Velay to St. Jean Pied-de-Port. The sites and sights along the way are just as ancient, interesting and beautiful as the Spanish path. Yet it is different in many ways and there are fewer people walking it.

The Kerry Way is a 220 kilometre loop walk around County Kerry’s Iveragh Peninsula, beginning and ending in Killarney. Early stages of Peter’s 10-day walk are through remote country near MacGillycuddy's Reeks, Ireland's highest mountains. The walk then continues south from Glenbeigh along hillside paths overlooking Dingle Bay and the Atlantic coast. On a free day, Peter visits world-heritage listed Skellig Michael, a steep rocky island with well-preserved remains of a 6th-12th century monastic village. The path along the south side of the Iveragh Penisula pauses at beautiful small towns rich in history—Waterville, Caherdaniel, Sneem and Kenmare. On the final day, an exhilarating walk traverses wild country north of Kenmare, then crosses Torc Mountain to finish in Killarney. This DVD also contains short sections about Killarney and walks along The Barrow Way in County Carlow and the South Leinster Way.

'The Kerry Way' is in the same style as Peter's earlier walk-DVDs, 'Walking the Camino (Spain)' and 'Ultreia - a Camino in France'. Photographs and Irish music are woven through with Peter's narration. Pan and zoom applied to the photos create dynamic effect.

'The Kerry Way'is supplied as a custom-DVD, individually produced using a high quality discs. It comes with printed disc label, contained in a black slimline dvd case with colour cover insert.

ST, FRANCIS OF ASSISI - A JOURNEY IN SONG. The 1994 Mittagong concert heard on the double-CD ‘Good Morning Good People’, was filmed.

In response to requests, a DVD has been made available for purchase.

CAUTIONARY NOTE: On a necessarily small budget, a company was employed to film the concert. The results were not ideal. It is noticeable on the DVD that one of the cameras used was better than the other. Though a script was provided in advance the camera operators sometimes missed the relevant ‘action’. In editing, available video sequences were assembled to the best possible effect, but this is still far from a glossy, professional film-production.

Despite limitations this DVD is, and will remain the best and only visual record of ‘Good Morning Good People’ in its full-scale communal performances as seen and heard in the premiere season of 1994.

The DVD is arranged into ‘chapters’. The viewer can watch the whole performance (Part One 55 minutes, followed by Part Two 65 minutes) or use the menu to choose particular sequences of song and narration.

Each custom-DVD is individually produced using a high quality disc. It comes with printed disc label, contained in a black slimline dvd case with colour cover insert.

GOOD MORNING GOOD PEOPLE (1994): The premiere season of ‘Good Morning Good People’ was in Peter Kearney’s hometown of Mittagong, New South Wales. Peter sang the part of Francis, Claire Parkhill sang the Lady Poverty and St. Clare. A masked Helen Archer powerfully delivered ‘The Leper’s Song’. Narrators were David Shapiro and Wendy McMahon-Bell. Before capacity audiences of 500-plus ’Good Morning Good People’ wove Peter’s songs and music through the story of the major turning points in the life of St Francis of Assisi. Choir and orchestra, with members ranging in age from 10 to 70, were drawn from many sections of the local community. After three successful performances in November 1994, the group gathered again in the following year for four concerts including one at the Riverside Theatre Parramatta and another at the National Folk Festival in Canberra. Since then, there have been many small-scale performances of Good Morning Good People, but the early large-scale communal performances remain a special memory for all involved.
